Digi For Kids

Look at your cell-phone, look at your tablet, look at your other electronic gadget. Find out, how many picture of you in them. Look at the Facebook or Twitter or other social media. Find out how many selfpotrait in them. Yes, there are lots of selfies.

A selfie is a type of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. It seems everything needs to be documented just to prove that it happened. A selfie is just a necessity if you’re on your own and need a photo.

Selfie is one of the most popular phenomenon of the digital age. When you share your filtered photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, it means you’ll join millions of others around the world almost in the same time. For example, 51% of the UK have ‘selfied’ –making 35 million photos of peoples faces in places, every month. Even toddlers love selfie.

Superkids, the instant gratification that smartphones or digital cameras provide to you is going to be hard to overcome. The instant gratification will make you want things immediately and quickly. It’s going to have an impact on your ability to wait for gratification.

It’s okay and natural for kids to be fascinated with their own image. Even, it plays an important developmental role as they develop a sense of self. But, like any other fun thing kids get obsessed with, too much of it can be bad. In digital age, it is good for you to practise patience.

Life is a long process. Don’t let digital age grab your time to enjoy the process!
