Roses Are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink

Gilbert (an unusual looking animal, half rat, half porcupine) got an assignment from school. He was to write the Valentine wishes for the entire class. It’s actually an easy task for Gilbert who liked poem. So he made a beautiful Valentine poem for the girl he had a crush, Patty and a sweet stanza for his best friend, Frank.

The writing task was almost complete, only two friends left. Two friends whom he didn’t like. Sitting with a pencil and paper, Gilbert recalled something about them. Lewis pinched his nose once and Margaret always made fun of his glasses. So Gilbert decided to repay them back with bad Valentine cards.

Gilbert came up with honest yet brutal for Lewis and Margaret. Just imagine, he said Lewis’s feet stink! Still in poem but the words were harsh and rude. Didn’t want to get in trouble, Gilbert falsified the sender of the cards. He put Margaret’s name on Lewis’ card and he signed Margaret’s with Lewis’ name. When the cards were delivered, it was chaos in the class. Margaret and Lewis fought.

But then they noticed something odd. Lewis received two cards from Margaret, who also received two cards from Lewis. One was nice and the other was rude. And neither got a card from Gilbert. Obviously he was busted, as if to get caught wet handed. They were so mad to Gilbert and didn’t want to play with him.

Valentine day was a perfect moment to spread love. Gilbert was so sorry for what he had done. He learned that treating people the way we want to be treated is the best way to keep things cool. So he made new nice Valentine cards for Lewis and Margaret.
