If you like traveling, perhaps it’s best to meet Nathalie. The little girl with red ribbon is truly a traveler. She doesn’t dream of becoming a doctor, a pilot or a director, instead a backpacker who goes around the world. The 19 titles of series alone can tell how much Nathalie likes to make her way into pretty much every hidden corner of the world. Take for example “My first Trip Around the World”, “Hallo World”’ “It’s a Small World” “Up Side World”’ and “Around the World with 80 Chaos.”. It’s not Nathalie if satisfied with three continent or 30 countries…she wants all!

Reading “The Tour Around the World with Nathalie”, fills us with various information about the world and what’s in it. The Sergio Salma’s book appears more like a tourism encyclopedia comic, with information inside is packed in eyes friendly package as atlas, postcards and photos. Sergio doesn’t just share the bright side of a place, he also leaks out the bad news. For example, giant panda is getting endangered in China and how apartheid politic used to cover South Africa.

Oh and sure Nathalie won’t miss Indonesia out in her route. She stops by here too, Superkids. And what would be interesting for Nathalie while in here? Apparently she is attracted by the beauty of Borobudur temple’s architectures in Magelang, the endangered komodo the giant lizard that lives freely in Komodo Island and Balinese dance. And what bad news she has about Indonesia? Nathalie tells about how tsunami wipes out Aceh and killed thousands of people in December 26th, 2004.

The original title of “Around the world with Nathalie”, is originally “Le Petit Tour du Monde avec Nathalie”. Sergio Salma is a well known artist from Belgium who has his work spread worldwide with Nathalie. We get to laugh enjoying the fun of Nathalie’s trips thanks to the translation provided by Dyah M Kusnadi and Oky Rachmawati. Yes, Nathalie has been to everywhere, including some small countries we may have never even heard. But one thing is certain, she never changes. Everywhere she goes, this 8 years old girl always appears in her favorite yellow t-shirt and blue trousers. Just don’t take this one, Superkids.

Enjoy the trip with Nathalie!
