Princess Mia’s Birthday Party

If normally the word ‘princess’ and ‘royalty’ are identical with parties and glamorous life, this one appears to be rather different. Mia, the Princess of Genovia, is allergic with parties. Since her disastrous 15th birthday party last year, Mia is done with such parties anymore. She has decided to never have another birthday party. Mia chooses to focus on preparation to enroll at her dream school Albert Einstein High School, rather than thinking of parties.

But, that’s Mia. Her beloved grandmother, Grandmere and her dearest best friend Lily are another stories. They have a plan to throw out not just a party, it’s ‘the party’. The scheme is to make Mia’s birthday a reality show on MTV. There happens to be a MTV program called “My Super Sixteen”. But special for the occasion, the title changes into “My Royal Sweet Sixteen.” Ough, for Mia, it’s all just a plain too much.

Grandmere works behind the scene with her 100 percent. She prepares a private jet for Genovia to pick Mia and 1000 bestfriends (does that number even add up?), they will shop at every grand boutiques and end the day by watching Destiny’s Child concert. Oh don’t forget, it will be recorded on MTV team. A camera will follow them every step of the day.

For her friends, this is the most exciting news of all. It seems that they can talk about anything else anymore at school. For Mia, celebrating her birthday such way is the last thing she ever wants in life. MTV? Private jet? Destiny’s Child concert? No, NO, N-O. Even if there will be a celebration, Mia would rather to have a small occasion with her closest best friends.

Mia suspects that Grandmere is not the only one responsible for the plan, it’s Lily who’s pulling the string. In the mist of her suspicion towards Lily and finding a way out from Grandmere’s plot up on her offer, Mia learns a few things about friendship, family, and loyalty to the country she will one day rule.
