Bastian’s Career after Coboy Junior
February 23rd, 2014 becomes a historical day for Coboy Junior. It’s the last day of their days as a boyband. The very same day when one of the personnel, Bastian Bintang Simbolon, officially announces his resignation after concert at Tennis Indoor, Senayan, South Jakarta.
Bastian’s decision to step out of the group is not because of a clash with the other three members, disappointment over salary distribution, or bored with the nonstop activities of Coboy Junior. He claimed, there’s no specific reason as to why he leaves the group that has been around since July 23rd 2011. “Well, this maybe is the way for us,” he says.
Without the curly boy known well as Babas, Coboy Junior dispersed. Alvaro Maldini Siregar (Aldi), Teuku Rizky Muhammad (Kiki) and Iqbaal Dhiafakhri Ramadhan (Iqbaal) change their name to CJR. Now, what is on Bastian’s schedule that he’s no longer with the Coboy Junior?
Apparently he is preparing a solo album, a project that can’t be real if he stays with Coboy Junior. Bastian hopes that the album will be released anytime soon. However, as to big names who’s helping him with the project, Bastian is reluctant to leak out. He also refuses to tell, how far has the production going on so far.
One thing for sure, Bastian will continue his career solo. He claimed that many job offers have come before him, from movies to guest star by many TV programs. In the mist of all those activities, he still must finish school at Advent Bandung Elementary School.
