Is it a dance? No. It is a martial art. Wushu uses dynamic movements with aesthetic beauty to make it looks like dancing. At the same time, wushu also builds your physical condition, mental focus and discipline. We can protect yourself from enemy by practicing wushu, Superkids.

The term of wushu (simplified Chinese: æ¦; traditional Chinese: 武術) means ‘martial arts’. Wu means military or martial, and shu means art. With origins dating back over 2000 years, wushu figured in the matter of survival through China’s many wars and political upheaval. After 1949, wushu was developed in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts. Wushu was organized and systematized into a formal branch of study and national sport.

With the incredible depth of culture, wushu gives us physical fitness, mental focus and discipline, self confidence, life skills, and even weapons training with spear, staff, broadsword and straightsword. It also gives us recreational pursuit and competition.

Wushu came into Indonesia in colonial era as the arrival of Chinese traders or Chinese who run away from the revolution. However, these immigrants only taught wushu to certain trusted people. In the modern era, international standardized wushu was introduced to Indonesia in 1992 by IGK Manila.
