Origami Cheongsam

What fits best for the incoming Imlek? Cheongsam!

It’s Chinese traditional outfits worn by both boys and girls. Cheongsam for boys is called changsan, changoao or dagua. You can see the outfits worn on Chinese wedding ceremonies or official occasion. Brians Tjipto, a boy who also will wear changsan on this 2566 Chinese New Year, shares an easy ways how to make origami cheongsam.

Step #1

Fold 1,5 cm one edge of the paper twice. We are making the collar.

Step #2

Fold the paper in two, about the center part of collar folding. Open up, fold the left-right side crossing.

Step #3

Fold a bit the collar downward. Reopen.

Step #4

Fold vertically in the center part. Cut a bit the last fold line for sleeves.

Step #5

Fold the bottom part about 1,5 cm for the skirt model.

Step #6

Cut a bit both sleeves, fold back.
