Ingredients:

Wasted perfume bottle

Jojoba oil, olive oil, vegetable oil, sesame oil (most accessible one)

Various essential oil

Vitamin E capsule

How to Make:

 1.   Clean up a wasted perfume bottle. You can use any bottle if can’t find any.

2.   First put carrier oil into the bottle. Use the oil you like the most and easiest to get. It could be olive oil, jojoba or even vegetable oil or sesame oil. Put in about three ounces of oil into the bottle.

3. Now put in about 15 drops of essential oil for the spark. For base note, you can chose from any fragrance you like such as cinnamon, jasmine, cedar wood, rose, vanilla or clove.

4.  Next step is adding up in middle note essential oil. Put in 15 drops of chamomile, geranium, juniper, pine, rosemary, ylang-ylang, nutmeg, lavender, or cypress.

5.  Now for the last essential oil you need for the top note of the perfume. Put in 15 drops of your preferable fragrance into the bottle. You can choose from eucalyptus, lemon, grapefruit, peppermint, spearmint, sage, tea, or orange essential oil.

6. You almost have the perfume now. Just add fixative to strengthen the perfume and makes it last longer. Use vitamin E capsule, add the fills into the bottle. It’s very good for skin and makes the perfume stronger.

7. Tighten the seal and shake the perfume to mix all the ingredients together. Leave in a room for about two weeks. During the process, essential oil will mix up and the perfume will be strong and last longer.

8. Give label name according to the spark on the bottle, such as “Lovely Lavender” or “Chic Rose”.

Tips:

1. Try various combination of essential oils for base, middle and top note until you find the perfume you like the most.

2. The trick of making perfume is how drops of the base, middle and top note used. Just remember that top note is the fastest to vaporize, after that middle note and the slowest base note.

3. Have some experiment with the dropping, make note of how much you use. To make stronger rose scent, put in more drops. Same goes if you want the juniper and lemon scent to stand out.

4. The more experiment you have, the bigger chance for you to success in making the perfect combination of perfume. When you do, why not trying the entrepreneur thing by offering it to your friends. Have fun, Superkids.
