The Cutest Helicopter in the World

Smaller than an egg, lighter than an orange. This helicopter toy was truly a state of the art supermini toy. Yet Pico-Falcon was even smaller than Nano-Falcon, a similar toy that used to be acknowledged as the smallest helicopter toy in the world.

It’s only normal, considering Pico was the latest upgrade of Naco. Both were released by a Japanese toy company, Bandai. Nano-Falcon snatched the public attention since the first day of display at Tokyo Toy Fair, June 2013. It came in a very small size, only 65 mm. But Pico-Falcon was even smaller, only 46 mm long, almost half the size of Nano.

So how Pico-Falcon could take off with such small body? It was made by using cellphone and smartphone technology, resulting in a very small flying vehicle with prime quality. The chopper was also equipped with gyro censor and contra rotating mechanism which is claimed to be able to build a steady flying toy.

Want one of these? Pico-Falcon will be ready to go public on December 5th 2014. Despite the size, its ability could match the regular or big helicopter toy. What are those? Well, Pico-Falcon could do pretty much everything those bigger ones could. Going up-down, moving forward-backward, steering right-left and even taking double turns. The different with Pico and Nano was, Pico came up with rotor tandem that served to stabilize the helicopter. But the handling stayed the same, with IRC (infrared remote control), that came in no less cute look.

It’s too bad that Pico-Falcon could stay in the air for only about four minutes, after being charged for 30 minutes. Well, it’s should be understood since the batteries are also supersmall.

For the first series, Pico-Falcon was released in limited choices of color; orange, blue and green. The per unit price was affordable, 4.838 yen or somewhere around Rp 550 thousand. Hmmm…. interested to put this cute little toy into your Christmas wishes this year?
