Tongsis, The Best Innovation of 2014
Do you have tongsis, Superkids? Selfie Stick or commonly known as tongsis for us is a tool, used to take selfie picture from certain range. It’s a prolonged stick with a place to put cell phone or other portable equipment. It is actually a modification of monopod. Tongsis is getting familiar in the society with the growth of varied cell phone.
The device is invented and introduced by Anindito Respati Giyardani (@bababdito). Bababdito is a photograph who comes up with the name. it was Tongkat Ajaib, at first but then changed to tongsis. Inspired from Front Pembela Narsis.
Tongsis is getting more popular when iPhonesia community is invited to the presidential palace. Here, a member of iPhonesia, Dina Kosasih takes initiative to give tongsis to Ibu Ani Yudhoyono.
According to TIME, Tongsis or what they call selfie stick has helped many cell phone users. And this stick has also accommodated the camera phone that is on the rise these past two years.
“If in 2013 selfie is a new trend, in 2014 selfie has become a cultural phenomena,” TIME, reveals.
An analyst from Gartner says, Tongsis does deserve a place in the top invention of 2014. It’s because this stick has helped to take picture with better angle. “Selfie stick from different brands enables user to position the smartphone further than arm reach, too give better view angle,” said Van Baker.
Beside Tongsis, TIME’s best invention for 2014 falls on 25 other devices. Among them are Apple Watch, 3D Printer, Hooverboard, Space Plane, smartphone Android Blackphone and several others
