Barbeque Meatball ala BazoZate

Do you want the sweet, spicy, cheese, steak or the one with molten peanut covering all over the meatball?

Enjoying meatball barbeque at BazoZate is a surprising experience. Normally, in any food court offering barbeque meatball, we must settle with regular barbeque meatball. At BazoZate, our taste is spoiled by various delicious flavors.

Quite different from common food court where we just sit, order and eat, BazoZate offers buffet. We get to choose what we want to eat, fill the bowl, and add some soup. The side dish like siomay and meatball tofu are served a la dimsum. So, it’s only normal if this downtown culinary spot is always full with crowd.

“I’ve been in meatball specialist culinary business for seven years, from pushing food cart to franchise. I think this is the best meatball serving for now,” Hadi Nugroho, the owner of BazoZate, confident.

Before hit the ember, they cover the peanut meatball flavor with peanut seasoning to make sure the flavor seeps in. The same with cheese, sweet, spicy and steak flavor. The meatball is dipped into cheese batter, hot spice or others, and put on medium flame. That’s why the spicy barbeque meatball is hot enough plain, no need to add chili sauce or spice.

Perhaps you’d rather go for regular meatball with soup? It’s there too. They have rough meatball, the soft meatball, or premium meatball (made of round steak). Even the fries are optional: kopong fries (round shape and empty in the middle) made of mackerel, or crunchy fries of hide, filled with mixture of shrimp and chicken. They are available for Rp 1.500 and up.

“Only the newest two menus served in portion, the Italian Cheese meatball and Special Steak. Both are offered Rp 20.000 per 10 meatballs. Other meatball are served three per roast. Each meatball is Rp 1.500, so you can have one roast for Rp 4.500. Feel free to buy one roast because they are not in portion,” Hadi explained.

BazoZate just recently opened in April 2014 on Jl Biliton 45, Surabaya. The food court is designed modern and attractive, unlike common meatball court. According to Hadi, they went into this business with a single mission: to push the level of meatball up, equal with foreign culinary our people like. “It gives some proud to have our own delicious domestic food. People always took selfie before having Japanese sushi, meatball should have it too,” Hadi reveals.

Well, want some?
