Invite Surabaya to be Smile Heroes
BKGN was successfully held in 16 Mouth and Dental Hospitals (RSGM) in 13 cities in Indonesia. On since September 12th, 2013 with theme “Give Your Child a Healthy Smile, to Succeed in Life”, this event officially ended on Monday, November 18th 2013. The closing ceremony was hold in RSGM Dental Faculty (FKG) Hang Tuah University (UHT), Surabaya.
During the BKGN, UHT socialized the importance of dental care for students around the campus. It’s noted there were at least 1.900 students from 16 schools and pre schools participated in the event. The UHT team sent a squad of 123 Smile Heroes, consisted of dentists (lecturers and alumnus of UHT), students of Dental Faculty and dental nurse at RSGM FKH UHT, to educate the community. During BKGN, they opened simple tooth patches service, teeth removal and clean up for free.
“Through this event, we educate and invite parents to become Smile Heroes. The task is important, to tend to kids dental and mouth health since early for the sake of their future,” drg Ratu Mirah Afifah, GCClinDent, MDSc acting as Professional Relationship Manager Oral Care, PT Unilever Indonesia TBK, explained.
Pepsodent Commercial star Tasya Kamila was also participate in the closing BKGN in UHT. Talking about Smile Heroes, Tasya addressed her mom as the central role for Smile Heroes at home. Tasya’s mom was patiently giving example of how to brush teeth correctly and regularly brought her for a dental check up every six months. The good habit was carried out to Tasya adolescence days. “I haven’t experienced tooth ache. So, i can’t tell you exactly how it felt,” the former little singer proudly elaborated.
In addition, Dean of FKG UHT, Dr Drg Dian Mulawarmanti, MS also said that ideally tooth brush is done twice a day. It’s after the breakfast and before bed time in the evening. “It’s better to do that after breakfast in the morning, not when taking a bath or upon wake up. The remaining of meal attached to the teeth can also be washed away,“ Dian went on.
