Shooting Lesson in Tarakanita I
Tarakanita I Elementary School greeted a warm welcome to road show School Attack Superkids Indonesia to their place at II/54 Barito, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. On Thursday afternoon, November 27th 2013, the students were so excited with the picture taking lesson, brought by Canon, Superkids Indonesia’s partner for the event.
None of the 150 students from four and five grade looked bored with the three hours practice, started at 11.30. They were divided into 16 groups, each hosted 9-10 students. Kak Edo as marketing executive Canon Division kindly guided them to learn more about how to properly use the camera, instead of just shoot anything that moves.
There are four basics to address for a photographer candidate. They are holding the camera, image composition, illumination and angle. “Now just with these four, you are guaranteed to make pictures with much better quality,” Kak Edo assured them. Among the main factors that determine the quality of image was lightning or illumination. Even with properly handling technique and well adjusted image composition, the product will be less than standard if we don’t tend to the illumination well.
According to Kak Edo, blitz is not the only dependable source of light. “There are natural source which is the sun, and you will find it very helpful for daylight shooting,” Kak Edo reminded them. Now in case the sun is not enough, most photographers employ artificial light, flash light from camera, studio’s light or torch light. In addition, we can choose to combine the sun and the artificial light.
Not enough with the theories, students were also invited to practice shooting with Canon digital camera. Of course the best result will be awarded with a package of cool stuffs from Superkids Indonesia, Canon and two promoters of the event, Ultra Jaya Milk Industries and Cokelat Cha-Cha. The winner is Lily Group, consistes of Donna, Giorgi, Rachelle, Kezia, Rere, Tasya, Eca, Thalia, Tata, and Meilanie. Next to go is Barong Putih, they are Zefanya, Karen, Felli, Kania, Esi, Danella, Marcella, Dwira, and Audrey. Congrats!!
