Recognizing Kids with Smart Attitude
Smart kid is definitely something every parents want. Yes, smart behave and behave smart. In seminar brought by Morinaga Platinum in AXA Grand Ballroom, Kuningan City, Jakarta on Saturday, November 23rd 2013, Dr Ahmad Suryawan SpA(K) the speaker was overwhelmed by questions around how to create smart kids.
Among the questions was how to facilitate kids to be smart? According to Wawan -Ahmad Suryawan nick name- the key lies in the first 1000 days of their life. It’s the crucial phase relates to how smart they can be throughout their life. To facilitate their intelligence can be done by providing activities that suit their growth and development both physic and age.
“For kids of 1-3 years old, the most important thing is by giving opportunity to play as much as possible. With playing, they can explore the potential within them to the fullest. By doing this, their natural intelligence will evolve properly. So the point is, let them play!” the head of Kids and Teenagers Growth and Development Division of Pediatric Department of Dr Soetomo’s Surabaya Hospital, confirmed.
According to Wawan, kids with smart behavior can be seen from their daily activities. For example, a kid can solve problems instantly, correctly in orderly manner. The kid may also come up with an alternative solution, in case the first one doesn’t work. A kid who behaves smart on the other hand is more creative, initiative and well adapts to any changes. “These kids will take scattered snack on the ground in front of them and put it into the trash, even without anyone telling them to or watching,” Wawan went on.
The seminar with the theme “Shaping The Intelligence Since Early” also presented the psychologist Dr Rose Mini M Psi -better known as Bunda Romi- for the second session. Bunda Romi brought up an issue with less significance value. It’s about Creating Smart and Happy Kid. Superkids Indonesia as a promoter of the event, opened kids’ corner to invite kids playing while learning.
