Despicable Me Visits Supermal Pakuwon Indah
Nearing the launching of “Minions” spin-off movie this upcoming 2015, the one big eyed minion Stuart and the two eyed minion Jerry come to visit Surabaya. Along with Gru and one of his adopted daughter Agnes, the guys celebrates Christmas and new year at Supermal Pakuwon Indah (SPI).
The “Supermal Christmas with Despicable Me” show has made a hit with the crowd since day one on December 21st, 2014. They sang and danced with Gru, Agnes, Stuart and Jerry in atrium SPI. This wasn’t the first time for these “Despicable Me” character to visit Indonesia. “But this time they have brought Agnes. These guys came straight from Universal Studios Singapore for special performance in SPI, not in a roadshow to several cities,” Arthur Lloyd, Event Coordinator SPI, revealed.
The show told about Agnes’ sorrow after got separated from her lovely unicorn (white horse with a horn that exists only in fairy tales) stuffed doll. The doll went missing somewhere. Gru, Jerry and Stuart tried hard to look but couldn’t find it. After seeing Agnes’ tears, Gru and Minion made a new unicorn doll for a Christmas gift. Agnes, Gru, Stuart and Jerry also invited the audience to dance along with soundtrack “Despicable Me”, like “You Should Be Dancing”, “Unicorn”, “Banana Song”, “Underwear” and “Happy”.
In meet and greet session, there’s a long line of audience who wanted to take pictures with the Despicable Me characters. The ticket for photo is free by presenting a bill with BCA credit card of Rp 300.000. Without the bill the cost was very affordable, Rp 150.000 for non-member Privilege, Rp 100.000 for member Privilege and Rp 75.000 by BCA creadit card. The photos can be taken in one hour.
“Supermal Christmas with Despicable Me” was on from December 21st, 2014 to January 4th, 2015. Two sessions at 16.00 and 19.00 on Tuesday-Friday. Three sessions for Saturday-Sunday at 14.00, 16.00 and 19.00. “On Christmas day, December 25th, the show is performed three times. They have one break day, on Monday,” Yeni Chang, Promotion Manager SPI and Pakuwon Trade Center, explained.
