Superkids, have you ever imagined that one day you will fall in love with an ugly person? Have you ever imagined that you sincerely love and then marry him? Have you ever imagined that the ugly person, beyond your expectation, turns into a handsome prince?
Belle was beautiful. Beast was ugly, rude and grumpy. Initially, Belle did not like Beast. However, one day, Belle was attacked by wolves in the woods. Beast came up and helped her. Then, the relationship between Belle and Beast got better. They were friends then finally loved each other. Just before their wedding, it was revealed that the Beast is the incarnation of a handsome prince.
Well, it was a piece of musical drama played by students of National High Jakarta School (NHJS) on March 22, 2013. The drama of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ was played for kid’s version. The plot was funny, romantic, and then suddenly changed into spooky.
“We need five months to arrange,” said Red Carleto and France English, the directors. “Initially, we’re looking for a suitable theme for kids. Then, the script was made. After the script, we made some paraphrasing. Then, there’re auditions for students from grade 3 to grade 9. After that,
the practice began.”
“It is hard and great to be the Beast. The Beast is the hero. But, I have to scream hard until my voice got hoarse,” said Saifullah, as the Beast. “The moral of the drama is; do not judge people just from the outside,” said 13 years-old Megan who played Belle.
