Halloween with Oggy and the Cockroaches
Oggy and the Cockroaches group arrived in Surabaya. Oggy and the three misbehave cockroaches that constantly treated him, Joey, Deedee and Marky brought up some entertainment for Superkids at Tunjungan Plasa (TP) 3. Coming just around the time of Halloween celebration, the “Meet and Greet with Oggy and the Cockroaches” was then put into the sequence activities with horror scents like Halloween Body Painting Competition and the premiere of “Solit4ire”.
From their opening show on October 15th 2014, live show of Oggy and the Cockroaches never failed to attract young audience. Among them was Belia Amarinda Bramayana. This 4th grade student claimed to be a loyal fan of Oggy and the Cockroaches. She was actually felt a bit disappointment because for her, the group didn’t come in full pack. They are missing Jack, Oggy’s cousin. “It’s usually a bigger war when Jack’s around. But only with Oggy, Joey, Marky and Deedee is funny too. It’s just like watching the serial and the movie,” Belia said.
After the show, people had an opportunity to take picture with the characters of Oggy and the Cockroaches. For Belia, that was enough for her as a fan of the France originated cartoon with original title “Oggy et les Cafards”. Promotion Manager Tunjungan Plaza, Dian Apriliani Dewi admitted of Oggy and his three arch enemies might be less of a horror compared to dracula, Chucky doll or the most recent one, Annabelle. But that doesn’t mean they failed to bring fun and joy for young audience. “Oggy and the cockroaches are famous among the children. They like them, both boys and girls,” Dian gave her reason.
On weekdays, Oggy and the Cockroaches only performed once a day, at 06.00 PM. On weekend, they came in two sessions, at 03.00 PM and 06.00 PM. Still on the same area, a lot of activities were thrown for Superkids, all they to the end of October. At Kids Corner, it has robotic workshop for kids brought by RoboKidz, children beauty care by Lineage and Photo Corner with Fox Studio.
A competition with Halloween atmosphere covered the painting arena, RoboKidz Story Maker, cheerleader, and body painting. The last one had 17 teenager and adult participants on October 26th 2014. Their creepy make up was a success in bringing up Halloween to one of the biggest shopping centre in Surabaya.
