Rain, Trading Still On

The pouring rain over Bogor, West Java, Saturday January 18th 2013, didn’t do a thing to budge the lively spirit of Elementary School Plus Bina Bangsa Sejahtera (BBS) students to participate in Market Day. Both sellers and buyers were equally enthusiastic. Take a look at Jingga Cafe, hosted by Hauzan Faiz Ramadhan (Fafa). Fafa was overwhelmed by the load of buyers who were lining up, choosing what to take.

Since the requirement for the snack was corn, Fafa chose to sell donut and corn rissole. It took only a short while to empty his café. “It’s not that difficult to sell them, see, sold out even in this rain,” Fafa proudly smile.

The goal of Market Day was to train students in entrepreneurship. This project was collaboration between parents-children. Therefore, the parents were also there when these young traders were in act. “It’s expected that this can also help tighten the relationship among students’ parents,” Dhini Fatmi Nurbani the headmaster explained.

Market Day itself was a part of open house chain events, in regard to the 20th Bina Bangsa Foundation anniversary. Aside of Market Day, there’s also Sita and Suta coloring fair, held by Superkids Indonesia, seminar of “Smart Amazing Kid”, seminar of “Healthy and Quality Kids’ Snack”, Muslim fashion show for kindergarten category for Bogor, and even fried rice cooking competition for Superdads. Bayu Reza the chairman of the committee said “We pick as many activities for students and parents as possible, so everyone can come and participate.”

As kids edutainment website, Superkids Indonesia didn’t want to lack participate in the event. Superkids Indonesia team also prepared goodiebag for coloring fair winners, for the Bogor kindergarten category. “We always support any positive activities for Indonesian kids such as this,” Rosana TW, the Director of  Superkids Indonesia explained.
