Happy Birthday, Radar Surabaya!
Radar Surabaya daily newspaper, Jawa Pos News Network (JPNN) specific for Surabaya and surrounding, turned 13 years old, last February 24 2014. They didn’t not have much celebration for this one number up on the age, yet guests kept coming to celebrate with gifts to the news room ini the fourth floor of Graha Pena, Surabaya.
“From H-2 to H+5, guests kept on flowing. Be it sources, business partner or even readers,” said Editor-in-Chief Nofilawati Anisa to Superkids Indonesia in the 13th anniversary party of Radar Surabaya. Actually, they were planning to have a fun walk program in Surabaya Mayor Office. The event was terminated and moved to Gresik, Sunday March 2nd 2014, as part of the second anniversary of Radar Gresik newspaper, a branch of Radar Surabaya. “It turned out to be fantastic, we had over 7000 participants there,” Nofi added on.
So, what were the programs for Radar Surabaya’s own anniversary? Last Monday on February 24th 2014, the whole team was involved in a comedy show, dagelan kenthir. The show was “Gara-Gara Cukrik” (Thanks to Cukrik) and performed in the news room, which was transformed into a mini stage. “For us, 13 is a lucky number. We have got many blessing in the beginning of this year and there’s no reason to believe it will stop,” said Nofi. She was optimist, that readers and customers will keep growing in number. “It was also thanks to Superkids Indonesia that appears every Sunday,” this Ponorogo woman convinced.
Among the guest who came to give the blessing was the Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini. She arrived not long before the dusk, Monday, February 24, 2014, just before the “Gara-Gara Cukrik” began. “Well, Radar Surabaya is already an integral part of this city’s growth. Let’s hope it will keeps on monitoring the development of our lovely city,“ said Risma, who recently often made scene on TV regarding to her intention to her wish to step down from her mayor seat (yet against the General Chief of PIDP Megawati Soekarno Putri).
