Jember Fashion Carnaval Goes to Jakarta

 

Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) is a proud annual event of people from Jember, East Java. The show is held annually in Jember, brightening by fashion show with hundreds of participants involved. Unlike most fashion show, JFC models don’t swing their steps on the catwalk, instead along with the marching parade for kilometers away. This is guaranteed to invite thousands of people swarming by the street to enjoy the JFC.

This JFC is quite different. The show was held in Jakarta with indoor concept. 200 young models were involved in the JFC Indoor Concert-2. They appeared with colorful clothing and bright make up in Jakarta Theater Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta for two days,
Saturday (Dec 1st) and Sunday (Dec 2nd) and was performed twice for one day. First session was at 02.00 to 03.30 PM, and the second at 07.00 to 08.30 PM. Every young Kids Talent model performed in clothing with theme of Nature & Animal.

Take Icha Larasati (8) for example. This third grade Jember Kidul Elementary School student second performance in Jember JFC. “I am excited because I always in the front row and people take picture of me,” she said. Icha wore costume of black and white mushroom. According
to Icha the cloth was easy to handle and light just like normal cloth. The fact, she was almost disappear in the costume that swallowed her head and body.

The president of JFC Dynand Fariz said, the presence of JFC’s young models was part of the effort to train them for participant regeneration. “This is the JFC’s 12th year.  It’s normal for us to think of necessary measure and have proper regeneration,” Dynand explained.
