Watching with Superkids Indonesia

All of a sudden, Tibbe met with a lady who was sitting on top of a tree branch, frightened by a dog she saw earlier. From their introduction, we know that the lady’s name is Miss Minoes. She then became Tibbe’s secretary in hunting headline news. Miss Minoes can speak cat language, and thanks to her skill, Tibbe could gather lots of information from the cats they interviewed all around the town. In a short amount of time, Tibbe became a professional reporter with a talent in solving crime cases. At the end of the story, Tibbe found out that Miss Minoes is actually a cat that turned into human because of a chemical potion she drank on the road.

That’s the plot for the movie “Miss Minoes”, which was shown in Blitz Megaplex at Pacific Place on April 20 for the annual watch-together event with Superkids Indonesia to enliven the National Kids’ Film Festival (also known as KidsFfest) that was brought by the Kalyana Shira Foundation. Superkids Indonesia also got the chance to watch movies together on the third day of the festival with other Superkids from Smart Happy Kids and Care for the Little Hands Jakarta. No need to ask about the crowd; it was packed!

“I really like it. Even though I couldn’t yet read, but I like the story,” said Syafiyya, one of the kids who watched “Miss Minoes”.

Before this film, there was another film that was played in the KidsFfest Short Films Competition 2013 titled “History of Chinese New Year”. The film tells the legend behind Imlek tradition, complete with monsters, village people, and a girl in a red dress. This movie was made by the Superkids from Cikal Movie Making Club Jakarta. They might still be young, but they are already able to make a film. Now that is great!
