Exciting Experience from The Doctor for A Day

Doctor-For-A-Day (DFAD) was a special program from Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital Singapore that allows Superkids to play doctor with hospitals settings. Different kinds of medical activities were carried out in one chamber of the hospital. The program of one of Singapore leading hospital helped superkids of 5-10 years old to appreciate the medical world service better and inspired Superkids to be a professional in medic one day.

This program was performed for Media Indonesia and blogger (28/9) from 10.00-12.30, or approximately about 150 minutes. DFAD consisted of 6 experience rooms. Doctor’s Room, Nursing Room, Accident & Emergency, Operating Theater, Heart Room and Pharmacy. Here, Superkids will learn how to treat wounds caused by knife or bruises from falling and proper treatment for people with cardio arrest in operation theatre.

 

During this program parents were not allowed to be there in the experience rooms. The kids had been provided with a professional trainer who direct the Superkids to have their first hand experience. “I really love it, very surprise. I got to be a real doctor, huray…..,” Rashesha Anindya Historia to Superkids Indonesia who came to DFAD (28/9).

Dr Kelvin Loh, CEO Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital Singapore said, “Through this program, we aimed to educate our children to learn as early as possible of medical industry and we do it in fun way with creative activities. And Mount Elizabeth was expecting DFAD will inspire children to be professional in medic in the future”.
