Happy International Children’s Day

 

For the sixth time, the Kharisma Bangsa School in Pondok Cabe, Jakarta performed a hit event to live up the ICD. With the theme of “Around Indonesia”, not less than 800 children participated in the Saturday, November 23rd, 2013 event.

 

What exactly did they do? Well, a lot of stuffs. They swing bodies in Indonesian cultural dance and even the drawing competition. The event got even merrier with the presence of participants from other schools beside Kharisma Bangsa, Superkids.

 

The group of students from Bojong Sari 2 Elementary School, Depok, stunned the audience with the Topeng Betawi (Batavian Mask) dance. Didn’t want to fall behind, students of Darul Ulum Limo SDIT, Depok. performed Jaranan (horsy dance). Other than these two, there was also students of Ilmiah Pembangunan Islamic School Jakarta UIN, performed dazzlingly with their Sirih Kuning dance. Audience, teachers and parents alike joined in enjoyment with the performance.

 

The aim of this event is to sharpen their talent and to improve the students’ esteem for the richest of our culture. In addition, it’s a perfect moment to put them in touch with Indonesian traditional art. According to Miss Puji Astuti as the event PIC, their party was so happy with the number of Indonesian students who were proud to perform the local culture in the event.

 

“At first we actually focused on South Tangerang area. However there’s no way we can anticipated the level this enthusiasm. There schools from Southern Jakarta, Eastern Jakarta, Central Jakarta and even from Bogor eager to join in,” Miss Puji went on.
