The Morinaga Seminar in Jogjakarta

The fourth Morinaga Platinum road show took place in Jogjakarta, on Sunday (29/6), at The Rich Sahid Jogja Hotel ballroom. It was crowded and festive, with thousands of participants gathering together at eight o’clock to register, before the seminar started at nine. As usual, the Superkids Indonesia booth at the kids’ corner outside the seminar area became like a magnet for the young ones. When the moms were busy registering for toy kits, the kids enjoyed their time with Superkids Indonesia.

The children were busy learning and making origamis (the art of paper folding). Each of them chose what kind of paper they’d like to use. The Superkids Indonesia team taught the kids many different origami forms, from the simplest like a dog’s head, to the most complicated like an elephant. Each shape was then completed with drawings of eyes, ears and mouth to make the craft perfect. The result was then glued on a paper for the kids to bring home. The second session after lunchtime was even more fun. The kids who were already skilled in making origamis were asked to face paint. In a mannerly order they waited for their turn to be face-painted by the Superkids Indonesia team. Some kids, however, chose to paint their hands.

In the meanwhile, the atmosphere in the ballroom for the seminar was also noisy. The Head Division for Kids & Teens’ Growth, from the Department of Kids’ Health of RSU Dr Soetomo Surabaya, Dr Ahmad SuryawanSpA (K), presented on how to “Help Develop Smart-Behaving and Smart-Acting Kids”. On the second session, Dr Rose Mini A Prianto MPsi, a psychologist from the Indonesia University’s Faculty of Psychology, invited the participants to know the caring manner they’ve used for the kids. From there we can find out how it will affect the kid when he or she grows up.

The event, which was hosted by Irfan Hakim, was a closing for a series of road shows before we enter the Ramadhan holy month. After Lebaran, the road show will continue in Bandung on the 8th of September, 2013. “The knowledge we get is very useful. I know now what the effective way is to create a happy and smart kid. It’s all worth it knowing I came far away from Magelang,” commented Anis Kurniyawati, who came with her daughter GyanFasyaAnandavardhan.
