Who’s the Fairest of Them All?

Dozens of children in Snow White costume gathered at the main atrium Tunjungan Plaza (TP) 3, on Sunday, January 4th 2014. Among them was Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”, Jasmine of the “Aladin” tale, Cinderella from “Cinderella” story, and even Elsa from the latest Disney’s animated movie, ”Frozen”.

They took turn to step up on the stage, following the selection of “Snow White Fashion Show Competition”. Their action was watched live by friends, families and visitors of TP. Promotion Manager TP Dian Apriliana Dewi explained, the ones appeared as other than Snow White character didn’t mean that they miss costume. It’s true that this free of charge competition was held as part of the last “Snow White the Musical Show”. But the theme was not exclusive for Show White costume only. “We expanded the theme into Snow White and Princess because not every child has, fits and feels comfortable in Snow White outfit. So they are free to come as other princess,” said Dian.

Celia Zeeva (Vava) was among those who chose to wear other than Snow Whit outfit. For a change, she dressed up as Princess Jasminer. On the stage, Vava looked comfortable to swing her hips and head, imitating typical dance of Middle Eastern, the setting of the “1001 Nights” tales. She successfully has chosen as for the third place for Kindergarten category.

On the other side, Kayla Anindya felt at home with Snow White costume. To distinguish herself from dozens other Snow White, Kayla carried a basket of red apples she then shared with the jury: Christina Helen (Media Relation TP), Desilia (model) and Tien (Viva Cosmetic). “It’s not a bribe. It aims to charm the jury,” said Elly Fatmawati, her mother.

So, as Queen Villain question for the magic mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? The jury agreed on Gabriella Stefani for the first place of Kindergarten category and Charize Cahyadi for Elementary School category. The criteria went further than the look of the participants, but also include dress up matching and confident. Tips from the jury, children may appear with any costume, but still showing their character as children. No over outfit, haido, and makeup. “Eyelashes are fine but only the thin ones. Same goes for eye shadow, lipstick, blush on. In addition, accessories must match; the shoes, bracelet and others,” Desilia went on.

Each category hunted for top five. Each was rewarded with cash money, merchandise, trophy and VIP ticket for photos with the casts of “Snow White the Musical Live Show”. The winner Charlize claims that she’s very happy for her achievement. Charlize wore Snow White dress with knee short skirt, not exactly like the one Snow White’s that reaches the ankle. Her mommy

Megawati Tan modified design intentionally to bring out the children aura, agile yet still girly. “I’m very happy. I win, got prize, watched the show and get to have photos with the Snow White,” Charlize rejoiced.
