Every Kid has It’s Parenting
Uninvolved, Indulgent, Authoritarian or Authoritative. Which from these parenting have you been applied at home, Supermom? When physiologist Dr Rose Mini MPsi (Bunda Romi) rose the question at Harmoni One Grand Ballroom, Batam Center, Batam, she got various replies. With different type of kids at home, each Supermom must come up with different type of parenting too. All goes the same direction, though, to create character of smart and intelligence attitude.
Speaking at the closure of “Shaping Kids’ Intelligence Since Early”, Bunda Romi reminded thousands of audience that proper parenting can’t be forced, even on two siblings. “Each kid needs different parenting. Why? Simply because every kid is different, unique with their own weakness and strong points. Sure, a certain parenting can be applied in certain situation. But, it doesn’t always go that way,” said Bunda Romi.
The discussion heated up with the rain of question from Supermoms. Many claimed that they were still unsure of the best parenting for their precious kids. Assertive will stress the kids and soft hands may spoil them. There was a Supermom who got puzzled with her superfriendly kid. The little one was smart enough to take advantage on his natural friendly attitude to escape the chores. “Oh, being friendly is good. It’s not every time we got to see a natural friendly kid,” Bunda Romi gave praise. “However, rules are rules. So the kids still have to work on the duties. Being friendly is not a tool to escape the chores.”
Another common issue was many kids are hard to tell. They go left when told to go right. According to Bunda Romi, what needed to be addressed was how to tell the kids. The stressing, expression or even diction is crucial in delivering a restriction. One of the key, do not use the word “don’t”. A case sample, a kid wanted ice cream while having cough. Instead of making a fuss over the request, it would be more effective if Supermom just explain the condition the kid was in and what an ice cream would cause him. “Use positive gesture, flat intonation and explain why he can’t have the ice cream yet,” Bunda Romi adviced.
Just like in Surabaya Balikpapan, Samarinda, Bandung, Bogor and Pekanbaru, Morinaga Platinum roadshow was also enlivened by Superkids Indonesia booth. Here the kids are welcome to play and learn coloring picture, the art of folding paper and face painting. The beautiful Supermom, Siti Aminah didn’t need second thought to sign her daughter up Dzakira Hafizh as member of Superkids Indonesia. “Why not? The membership is for live with tons of benefits,” Siti reasoned.
