Never Too Early for Healthy Life Style

 

When spinach is on the table, they will ask for instant noodle. When baby kailan sauteed is served, they will cry for french fries. We are not alone in this thing, Supermom. It’s a very common issue that is shared among so many moms around the world. But that doesn’t mean there is no way out. Nutrifood, after 34 years of consistency in providing nutrient products, tried to help Supermom out of this problem.

 

Started in 2011, NRC has been holding regular meeting, discussing ‘Children’s Habit: Healthy Now, Healthy Later’. This two monthly program is part of the commitment of Nutrifood to inspire longer healthy life society. Thursday, Februari 7th 2013, Superkids Indonesia is invited to take part in Penang Bistro, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The theme for this seminar is ‘Healthy Habits Since Young. The Earlier, the Better’ with Fendy Susanto STP CTP CFT, Associate Manager Nutrition and Helath Science Departement NRC Division. There are three healthy life elements to be detailed discussed; nutrition, break and activities.

 

Opening the discussion, Fendy pointing out the fact that solution for healthy meal is not so difficult. The trick is to go along with children natural characteristic. They don’t like anyone to tell them anything and get curious when forbade. Therefore, all Superparents need is to do as Superkids want. “Instinct will always guide them to eat delicious meal We must keep up by making those meal healthy, available in various type and attractive,” Fendy explains.

 

For example, combining vegetable with fruits and out them into eye catching arrangement with beautiful color composition. This one require creativity and patient. Fendy use analogy of healthy life style as planting trees. It takes a lot of patient and care, but it will be paid off later on.

 

The second task is sleep. Resting is crucial for children. To enable them to sleep well, Fendy suggests to reduce the illumination in the room, keep any gadget away from the bed, and make sure that they go to bed not in when hungry or full. Also, tend to the exercise schedule. “Keep in mind that the homework must be done before bed time,” he added on.

 

Last but not least is the creativity. Many parents assume that studying is more important than playing or exercising. In fact, playing is an important part for children activity. Research indicated that children who actively exercising tend to score better grade. When playing and excercising, children learn to interact and develop critical thinking. Not only that they improve physically but also mentally.

 

The key of success in teaching the healthy life style is parents’ consistency. “We must encourage our self to start somewhere, even from the smallest things. Start from our self and spread to the kids. It will be hard at first, but it is worthy as a big leap for the people in our life,” said Fendy.
