“Can Easter Egg Wears Head Band?”

Nelson Timothy Nugroho and his brothers scrambled out from Jamoo Restaurant, Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya, Sunday afternoon, April 20th 2014. They raced to the non-permanent playing area on the resto pouch, where many other kids were already there.

“Hi there, come sit here. What’s your name?” Mr Clown greeted them friendly, inviting the fourth grader IPH Schools West student to join the pack of dozens kids of his age decorating Easter eggs. Oo… so that’s why Nelson chose this place to relax for a moment, Superkids. It was having an Easter for young guests. It’s free of charge, all can join the egg decorating competition, egg hunting game and face painting.

Each kid was given a  boiled egg and a mini decorating set. What if it breaks? Oh, no problem, Mr Clown will get you another one. There’s no rule of how the egg should be done. “Can I put a headband on it?” Felicia Laura Oey, a first grade student of Sin-Chung School asked. “Sure you can! Feel free to decorate as you like,” Mr Clown replied.

That’s why when the result were gathered, it was very varied. There’s a Felicia style girly Easter egg, up to monster figurine made by Winson Nathaniel. While waiting for the winner, kids competed to find eggs around the area. Those eggs were hidden behind the plants, in the pots or by the fence.

“We did have this kids’ activity area to keep the guests’ comfort while having lunch at Jamoo and other restaurants. Kids like to run around and making noise, much likely annoying other guests. Playground is ready to keep them busy with interesting activities,” Renny Herwanto, Communications Manager, explains.

Kids’ Activity is only available in Sunday afternoon, Superkids. It has many activities. Since it was Easter Day on last Sunday, kids were invited for egg decorating and egg hunting. Before going back, the pack rushed to hit the Easter bunny shaped pinata and collecting small gifts in it.

“Very satisfied. The it was excited with a lot of gift,” said Freya Djohari, a fourth grade student of Cita Hati Christian School gave a comment. She won the egg painting and came home with lots of gifts, from chocolate cookies, a mask, cotton candy, a pen, sticker, gummy candy and the likes.
