Free Show, Photos with Masha and the Bear for Only Rp 50.000

 

Hundreds of Superkids were willingly sat on the floor covered with carpet in front of the stage of atrium Grand City Mall (GCM) Surabaya. Many of these kids came from in and out of Surabaya to watch “Masha and the Bear”, the very popular Russian cartoon serial, live show. When the bear stepped on the stage, kids screamed happy. When Masha appeared, they screamed even twice as hard.

The show wasn’t in Russian, like the original movie. It’s in English, like what we saw on TV. “There are two versions, English and Russian. We chose the English because it is more familiar and understood by audience,” Kukuk F Soeharno, Marketing Communication GCM, reasoned.

On the stage, little Masha ran around, driving the bear confused with all the fuss this red hood girl made. He pulled Masha into a corner to make her quiet. But Masha would soon escape and ran with noisy laugh every time the bear looked the other way. When the bear went hibernate (sleep throughout the winter), Masha did everything to wake him up. While there’s actually nothing emergency. Masha only wanted to play hide and seek with this patient big bear who
likes calmness.

The well known mischief and troublesome Masha was played by a cuteclittle Russian girl who lived in Jakarta. She didn’t put on a Masha’s mask, only dressed up like her. She also didn’t speak, only lip sync to a recorder.

“I’m really happy to meet Masha. I watch the series every morning because my school started in the afternoon,” Khevi Allena Swastika who came from Malang with her parents claimed. Another fan was Anggela Adreane had a chance to line up for photos with Masha and the Bear
after the show. At first, she signed up for photos after the first session of the show. She was rejected because they ran out of ticket. “The list was already full, so I had to go with the next one,” said the girl whose familiar as Angel.

This “Masha and the Bear” live show was the very first time in Indonesia. It performed in GCM for five days, December 24-28 2014. Every day they performed three times at 15.00, 17.00 and 19.00. Every show lasted for 15 minutes and absolutely free for everyone, no charge for
anything.

The opportunity to take photos with Masha and the Bear was also open for public in meet and greet session after the show. Just show a shopping bill of at least Rp 500.000 from any tenant in GCM and you get a ticket for free photos. Or just buy the ticket for Rp 50.000. “We are showing appreciation to loyal shopper with free meet and greet ticket. And even if they pay, the cost is very affordable. So every Masha and the Bear fans can enjoy the show complacently,” Kukuk
went on.

Every meet and greet session was limited for 50 people with very the ticket. No wonder we always have the ticket sold out before the show. “My kid didn’t get a ticket today and asked to come again tomorrow. I bought a photo ticket for tomorrow,” Ardian Saputra, dad of Dava Attala Saputra, explained.
