Deciding Great School for Superkids

Is it the school with patient teachers or the one with very expensive tuition? The school with various game equipment or the one with a bunch of outdoor activity to choose? Any Supermom may often gets this kind of concern, has the little one been having the best education there is? The thought will increase in fold when the kids just being an average student. It’s true Supermom, it takes some ‘pre requirement’ before signing up our kids to a school.

In the smart parenting talk show ‘Great School for Your Kids’ held by Superkids Indonesia, Dewi Puspasari SPsi MIKom as the principal KIDEA Puri Botanical give away the answer. There is only one way to find out. “The parameter should be the kid,” Dewi stressing the reply during the event in Mall Taman Anggrek, Jakarta, Sunday February 17th 2013. Favorite school doesn’t mean that anyone fits in. No matter how good the system offered at one school, all goes for nothing if the kid is uncomfort. According to Dewi, the principle for children education is no enforcement. Parents should recognize their talent and go along. “A wise parenting is a must,” she concluded.

The next consideration is place, trial and curriculum. A long distance school will bore the kids. The comfort at school is equally crucial. Parents need to observe how the kids get along with their classmates, teachers and the school environment. Pushing them to study where they don’t fit in will only lead to a major problem later. Related to the curriculum, we need to see what the teaching-learning process is carried out, and the school connects to the students and parents.

These three points had been proven effective for Editor in Chief ‘Good Housekeeping’, Asteria Elanda in deciding to which school her kids go. “These tips work. In fact, even in holiday they want to rush it and go back to school. If they are given permit to skip the school, they will refuse,” Asteria recalled. She agreed that forcing will only kill kids’ character. Many moms are being driven mad in the morning because their kids are reluctant of going to school, well this might be one of the reasons. Asteria also reminded that it is superparents’ duty to guide superkids in discovering and sharpen their potential through the proper school selection.

“Superkids Indonesia as a portal for kids’ edutainment is a perfect non formal education to back up the formal one. We offer interesting columns  about general knowledge and entertainment such as Science, Technology, Music and Movement up to Creative Weekend to invite kids to create. We also have Games and E-Card which all of them were designed to support the development of Superkids’ IQ and EQ,” Ade Sri Purwaningsih, Advertising & Business Development Manager Superkids Indonesia went on.
