24 Hours of Dancing Solo
Not only Indonesian dancers participated in event of the annual 24 Hours of dancing Solo. There were overseas as well from Singapore, japan and Australia. The opening of the festival was carried out at 06.00 AM in two places at once, Loji Gandrung which is the official house of Mayor of Solo, and at Indonesia Art University (ISI) campus. “The theme is Hacking the Boundary Under the Shade of Color, “ according a committee member, Dwi Wahyudiarto. “This shows the variety of the source of dance,” he went on.
24 hours of Dancing Solo has been performed for the sixth time. This year, it is performed for a full 24 hours at 11 venues; Loji Gandrung, Plaza Sriwedari, Solo Grand Mall, Solo Square, Solo Paragon, Teater Kapal ISI Solo, Teater Humardani ISI Solo, Taman Eden ISI Solo, Great Hall of ISI Solo, Amphitheater of ISI Solo and Parkir Teater Kecil-Teater Besar. Five dancers are going to swing for a full 24 hours around the venue.
One of the eye catchers in the festival was Soeryo Soemirat Dance Studio, a minor dance club that practices every day in Solo Palace. “We had had months of very intense practice for preparation before this,” said Ninok, a member of Soeryo Soemirat Dance Studio. The festival will end on Monday (30/4) at 05.59 AM, by performing Bleganjur Dance, percussion and a dance talk with Garin Nugroho.
