Wise Ways to Spend Christmas

The merry of Xmas is in the air this early December. Rather than some shopping frenzy, spending money for something you don’t actually need, there are wiser ways of celebrating it, Supermom. Just what are they?

1. Toy Selection.

Have you heard about secondhand charity before Xmas? Not always clothing, we can donate toys for kids who might need them. So ask Superkids to collect their toys. Separate those beyond saving, those they love so much and those they are willing to let go. These toys should be cleaned up first before give them away. Who will take them? Aside to orphanage, there are local school and day care centre. Or better yet, give them directly to those we know who need those toys.

2. Secondhand Hunting.

Do you like to shop for X’mas decoration on sale, Supermom? Here is a cheaper and fun way. Just look for Xmas secondhand items. Sure, there’s not many place that sells secondhand Xmas ornament. But we can take Superkids to surf the virtual world. There are secondhand online shops that provide Xmas items with negotiable price.

3. Handmade.

From paper chain to indoor snow, making Xmas decoration has been an old tradition. If the little ones are creative, there are many ideas of Xmas creation to take from Creative Weekend Superkids Indonesia. From Santa origami and Xmas tree to Nutcrackers decoration.

4. Baking.

One way to save money in Xmas is by avoiding over shopping of packaged food. From now on, we should plan carefully what we want to have and make it. Any Superkids would love to get their hand into cooking decoration things. Yes it will be a little chaotic in the kitchen, but the kids will enjoy it and they get to have healthier meal of their own making. We can take peek to simple gingerbread recipe on the net.

5. Special Gifts.

Xmas gift is not always something covered in a fancy gift wrap. What about giving the kids and family a present of shopping voucher, restaurant, hotel, air plane ticket, or – the cheapest one – movie ticket? Those who receive it will be happy to enjoy it (and remember us) even when Xmas is over.
