Planning Kid’s Limited Budget Party

Kid wants a party for his birthday. At the same time, it’s hard enough for us just to put food on the table. Yes, we want to go all out for our kid, but we can’t. Well, instead of focusing on what we can’t afford, think creatively about what we can. With careful planning, we can make a low cost party that kids will love.

DIY. Using professional party planner means we’ll pay lot of cash. Create our own birthday invitations with personal touch. Notes from reuse paper or electronic message is okay for invitation.

Guest. Invite a few close kid’s friends for some celebrating. Ask our kid to limit the number of guests to a small group –say 4 or 5– and arrange a mini-party. For example, take them out for pizza.

Place. Don’t use a big and cozy public place. Let’s use our home or kid’s school. Ask the teacher if we can bake some cupcakes and bring them to school for the simple party.

Food. Get creative. There’s a standard birthday party food; cakes. But we may make ourself some cheap and simple but decorative food. For example, cutting cheese sandwiches into fun shapes. Bring along some yummy and healthy snacks.

Blue Dishes. Combine birthday parties. If we and a friend are having birthdays close together, why not combine our budgets and create a great big bash? We can double the savings and double the fun!

Instead of showering kid with material affection, find more meaningful ways to make him shine on his day, Supermom. Think about how everything teaches our kid about life skill.
