Glasses for Elena
Elena loves wearing glasses, though she doesn’t really need them. Her mom has one, so does dad. People often mistaken thinking that she wants to be like them. In fact, Elena just wants to look like her idol, the actress Venna McGuire.
Dad wears glasses when reading – he can’t see clearly up close. Mom is on the opposite side, she puts on the glasses to help her see something in the distance (she had entered the wrong line for passenger check in the airport because she couldn’t read the flight name well). Elena’s eyes are fine; she can see close and far objects well, yet she has more glasses than mom and dad.
She has one with yellow frame, blue frame, brick red frame, and others – she puts on the one match her suits. She also has the round frame, oval, square, triangle and star shape frame glasses. She has glasses with dark lens, white lens, plain lens, pink lens, glasses small hearts pattern, even the one without glasses at all. She keeps them all tidy inside the special cabinet next to her bed.
Where are all those glasses come from? She bought some, and some are given by people around who are familiar with her passion to glasses. Elena is more confident to leave house without make up than without one of her glasses collection. At school, many of her friends wear glasses to help with their sight. But only Elena has the nick name: ‘Glassy Elena’.
